Most of what I do comes from wanting to understand how things work: how people make choices, how systems hold together or come apart, and why some ideas last while others fade.

That curiosity pulls me toward markets. How capital moves, how businesses are valued, and where the assumptions quietly break.

About

I spent a year in the Valuation, Modelling and Economics team at EY, building financial models and running DCF, comparable-company and precedent-transaction analyses for M&A targets, including two live transactions of around INR 3 billion and 600 million dollars. I also valued the holdings of private equity funds and InvITs across real estate, infrastructure, metals and IT. The work trained a particular discipline: being precise about inputs, and honest about what a model actually tells you versus what you want it to say.

After that I joined BCG, where I worked across the full lifecycle of how a new Indian mid-market PE fund is built from the ground up. I helped shape its investment thesis across nine sectors, built the case for live deals it was preparing to back, ran outreach to more than 200 LPs across seven geographies, and worked on commercial diligences spanning pharma manufacturing and large industrial markets. It gave me a ground-level view of how the industry actually works, from raising capital to forming a view on where to deploy it.

I have cleared CFA Level I (90+ percentile) and am completing CA Final, having placed All India Rank 31 in the CA Intermediate exams.

Outside work: fiction, cricket, football and travel. Strong opinions available on request.

GTM strategy for a new Indian mid-market PE firm ($500Mn+ AUM)
  • Worked on shaping the investment thesis for the firm's new ~$180Mn thematic growth fund, identifying 9 sub-sectors each a $100Bn+ opportunity, and helped build the fund's pitch deck.
  • Built the investment case for 4 live deals the fund was preparing to back with $5-15Mn cheques, working through market sizing, unit economics and value creation.
  • Drove outreach to 200+ LPs across 7 geographies, spanning strategics, DFIs, family offices, endowments and institutional investors.
  • Researched and shortlisted placement agents across 6 geographies, negotiated terms and signed agreements; built the data room covering track record, IC memos, fund structure, PPM and governance policies for LP due diligence.
Deposits growth strategy for India's top private bank ($50Bn+ book)
  • Worked on developing and implementing a micro-market strategy, segmenting 2k+ branches across 5k+ pin codes into clusters and building differentiated GTM to target 2x deposit book growth.
  • Co-built three analytical tools to make the strategy executable: a resourcing model, a target-setting tool drawing on 4+ external data sources, and a branch expansion framework.
  • Benchmarked the retail distribution org structures of leading Indian private banks and recommended the most suitable structure for the client.
Select diligence and M&A work
  • Supported a commercial diligence on a pharma manufacturing target (~$8-10Bn market), benchmarking it against peers on margins, capacity and returns and stress-testing its customer base.
  • Built an M&A target screen for an inorganic growth mandate, funnelling 60+ global assets to a priority list of 12.
  • Mapped a ~$20Bn global industrial wastewater market for a buy-side diligence, segmenting by end-industry and mapping EBITDA margins across the value chain.
